I thought it was about time to have a dabble with some close-up photography, something I’ve not done in a while. So, after having a rummage around I figured a shaving razor would be interesting, and I actually saw something I wasn’t expecting.
The two images below are of a Gillette Mach 3 blade; mine. It is only 3 shaves old, and gets rinsed thoroughly after use so I thought I’d take a look at what’s happening at blade level, where the eye cant see.
It has been deliberately angled so as not to reflect the flash, hence the dull appearance, but that allows us to see what’s on it much clearer
Equipment: Nikon D3, 50mm 1.8 AIS m/f lens & PK + PN11 extension rings and Bowens Gemini flash.
So there we have it. This probably hasn’t put anybody off shaving as most of us having been doing it for years, but still interesting nonetheless.
